Ashley O. Thrift Volunteer Award

We are proud to announce that Catherine O’ Dell, Vice President of Member services and Public Relations for South River Electric Membership Corporation, has been awarded the Ashley O’ Thrift Volunteer Award.  Cathy is recognized for many years of volunteer service with the Sampson County Partnership for Children in efforts to support young children.

Cathy has served as the chair for the board of directors with Sampson County Partnership for Children for two years.   She has  dedicated time and energy to help ensure that the partnership is actively involved and engaged in the community in various ways.   Her added support and dedication has made an enormous impact on the children and community as a whole.   We are honored to have Cathy as a strong support for the Sampson County Partnership for Children.  We congratulate you Cathy and thank you for all that you have done for our partnership and the community.

About The Award

The Volunteer Service Award was established to honor Ashley O. Thrift, a Forsyth County attorney and 14-year Board Chair of The North Carolina Partnership for Children (NCPC), Inc., the organization that leads Smart Start. Thrift has been part of Smart Start since its inception, serving as Board Chair of the local Smart Start partnership in Forsyth County before joining the NCPC board. Thrift has advocated tirelessly for Smart Start, visiting every county in the state on Smart Start’s behalf. The Volunteer Service award is given annually to honor a current or past Smart Start Local Partnership Board Chair who embodies Thrift’s dedication.
